I have always thought that the styles in clothing and hair from the 1940’s through the 1960’s were some of the most beautiful I have ever seen, and I don’t think I am alone in this! If you think of the most glamorous stars of that era, you realize that they had a special look, a way of holding themselves, a charm and allure that is not often seen today.

What was the inspiration for creating Secrets in Lace, a specialist vintage hosiery & underwear label?
In 1980 the lingerie industry was getting away from the classic looks and moving toward more modern offerings (less lace) and moving toward cheap playwear; then authentic nylon stockings became very difficult to get – let’s say that was the straw that broke the camels back! We decided to launch
Secrets in Lace
, a store where a woman could get romantic undergarments that could be worn for more than just 15 minutes in the bedroom. Unlike lingerie that’s strictly for fantasy, the Salons at Secrets In Lace have Faux Vintage Lingerie that captures a feminine, classic look and can also be worn all day by women who like to feel beautiful under their clothes.

Who would be your dream "face" of the label, and why?
The everyday woman who wants to “Keep The Romance Alive” is the face of our company. With the exception of Dita Von Teese modeling her line of stockings, our models are not "models" they are everyday women.
What's the inspiration behind the current collection?
Our Collections are inspired by Vintage Fashion– our design team researches both lingerie and outerwear fashion from the 1950’s and 1960’s to recreate those wonderful looks – of course we update fabrics and colors so our clients can coordinate with outerwear. Also we generally don’t do a “Seasonal Collection” like most companies – we like to roll out new products monthly, something our competitors can’s do. I think it is also important to note that we are always designing new stocking styles that no other companies have – we have been working with the factories since the early 80’s driving the direction of this Retro Chic Look and Feel in authentic nylon stockings. Today we have well over 40 different styles.
